About this guide

An independent, Utah-specific landscaping resource — written by people who install this work in Wasatch Front clay every week.

Who publishes it

The Utah Landscaping Guide is researched and published by Xperience Landscaping, a landscaping company based in Midvale, Utah, serving the Salt Lake Valley & Utah County. We are not a directory, an aggregator, or an anonymous content farm — we're a working crew that designs, installs, and maintains landscapes across the valley.

We built this guide because Utah's landscaping information was scattered across vendor blogs, generic national listicles, and government PDFs — often outdated and sometimes flat wrong. The questions our customers actually ask (Will this plant survive my clay? What does a paver patio really cost here? What can I put in a park strip now?) deserved one honest, Utah-specific answer.

How we verify our data

Every cost range, rebate figure, and regulatory claim on this site is checked against primary sources and dated. We publish ranges, not single magic numbers, because real Wasatch Front pricing varies by site, access, and material. Where something can change — a district's rebate, a city's ordinance — we say so and tell you to confirm it before you rely on it.

Our primary sources

The data behind these guides is drawn from, among others:

  • Utah Division of Water Resources & conservewater.utah.gov (statewide rebate program and results)
  • Utah Water Savers — JVWCD, CUWCD, and Weber Basin district program details
  • Washington County Water Conservancy District (WCWCD) rebate terms
  • USU Extension horticulture and Utah Water Savers / Localscapes plant guidance
  • Salt Lake City and Provo municipal landscaping ordinances
  • Regional contractor and supplier pricing (Sol-Scapes, Strong Rock Pavers, DIY Landscape Supply, Pitt Landscape, Aridscape) and Homewyse/ICPI build standards

Data on this site was last fully verified in June 2026. Rebate programs and city ordinances change — always confirm current terms with your water district or city before making a decision. Questions or a correction? Email service@xperiencelandscaping.com.
